Silken threads in the morning

One night last week we had fog move in on us. When I got up at 6:00 a.m. the fog was still fairly thick. Minutes later the sun pushed the fog out of it's way and before too long had taken over. Left behind was a heavy dew which covered everything. I was headed out to bring the horses in so I could move some cows and of course had a camera to take with me. I made it out the front door and was struck by the amount of dew and also some spiderwebs strung on one of the gates in our yard. The spiderwebs were easily visible with the dewy coating them and the sun making them sparkle.

When I left the house to find the horses, it seemed everywhere I turned there were spiderwebs. They were strung from the tall grass in the pasture, weeds and trees. When I got out of the truck to take this photo my jeans became dew-soaked up to my knees and my boots were wet too. In several places the webs were strung in multitudes covering areas of about twenty-five feet or so. I couldn't catch those with my camera very well, so you will have to envision the last photo with the webs' sparkling brilliance as they stretched out in the sun!

Mother Nature sure gives us some cool things to see.
