Happy New Year!

After an absence of two months from my blog I have wandered back! I realized I did miss it!  So at the new year's beginning, I'm going to begin again here.

Last year on New Year's day, we celebrated a belated Christmas in Williston, ND with our grandkids, sons and daughter-in-law.Although the sun was out it was about  -10F. Today we are home after a trip to church, just my husband and myself. Different from last year, the sun is out, the ground is bare of snow and it is +22F.. If only  the wind wasn't blowing it would be a beautiful day! It's blowing hard for the fourth day this week.

These two photos were taken a year ago today, January 1, 2011 not too far from our place.

The two photos below were taken at our ranch today, January 2, 2012.We have snow in a few shady places from snow we received a week or so ago. Last winter we had snow on the ground from mid November until the first week of May. Even though we could use some moisture right now, life is much easier for everyone and spirits are high for the most part. Last winter was a struggle for people and animals.

I'm sure we'll all regret the loss of moisture come summer, but for now, I know everyonen is relishing the mild winter weather! Hope 2012 is a great year for you and Doug and all your family!
