Sunday Stills "Flags"

My garden flags are kind of boring but I just had to have an excuse to show off the snow we received on Friday! It started snowing west of us about 50 miles around noon and by 3pm it was snowing here at home. September 17 is early for snow even around here! We are hoping that this doesn't foreshadow what our winter will be like! It never got below 31F at our place but north of us they got down to 23F.  I was afraid my flowers would get frosted and be done for. They still look good, the snow must have kept them kind of insulated. We had right around three inches of snow when it was done snowing. I have three poplar trees in my side yard that were planted two years ago and flourshing. Luckily, I looked out the window yesterday morning and saw them bent over due to the weight of the wet snow and leaves. I went right out and shook the snow off and they look pretty good!

Great photos, especially of the barn, but I feel bad that winter has started so early for you! The poor flowers - I hope they will recover from the shock.

I know this summer has been ridiculously hot, but I'm not sure I'd be ready for snow in mid September!! Love your garden flags. :)

I heard from M's parents that there was snow on the cars in Baker Friday night, but I had no idea it had done anything significant anywhere else! I was getting excited about winter, but your pictures brought up some strange feelings. Maybe I'm not as ready as I thought!
Glad your trees made it!
