Sunday Stills "Birds and Bees"

This moth was on my deck a couple of days ago. I love those feathery looking antenae, fuzzy legs and body.. Guess it tries to fool predators by looking like tree bark or having "eyes" on its wings. Anyone know what kind of moth this is? I usually encounter several of them each summer.

Yep, cecropia moth. Great shots, particularly with the barnboard background. If you ever want to find out what something is, the go to website is Google Images.

Amazing photos! Moths are beautiful, but they do freak me out when the fly so erratically!
As a teacher I loved saying that moths emerge from a cocoon and butterflies emerge from a crysallis. At least I hope I had that right!
