Sunday Stills "Big Sky"

When I hear or read "Big Sky" I think of the state that will always be home to me, MONTANA. (Even though I now live about 25 miles from the Montana-North Dakota border,on the wrong side!) Montana has become known as the Big Sky State over the years and it fits. The sky has an endless quality there.

However, the sky seems just as big just over the border where I live in western North Dakota. I think it must be the close proximity the Big Sky State! That being said, I'm not a bit ashamed of the big sky as seen from our ranch.

The first three photos were taken on Wednesday of this past week from the road into our place. The top photo is of Camels Hump which lies to the southwest of us. The second shows Camels Hump and just to the left Sentinel Butte. You can faintly see several cell phone towers and assorted antennae which have sprung up and are somewhat of a necessary eyesore. From the top of Sentinel Butte, you can see for miles and miles in all directions.

The third photo is looking due south from the same vantage point as the previous two photos. We are blessed with some of the most beautiful sunsets to be seen! None of my sunset photos had any editing done to them, this is just how they came off of my memory card.  These are the true, real colors.

These contrails in the next photo caught my eye one day a week or so ago when I was feeding cattle.

This photo really is of Big Sky country. It really doesn't show the idea of shooting in thirds but I thought it was still a cool photo. This sign and sunset were on the outskirts of Baker, Montana a week ago.

Nothing wrong with the size of your North Dakota sky. :-)
The contrail shot is different, I like that.

Very nice shots, I love the prairies for their big skies and even though we live north of the big sky state, we have our share of them too. You sure have some pretty views from your place.
