The -30F temperatures of last week have given way to a January thaw here in North Dakota. By mid morning, the temperature was in the mid 30's (above zero) and about 45 at 3:00pm. Standing on the front porch this morning, I could hear water running thru the down spots from our rain gutters. The hills aren't completely snow covered any more, bare spots have appeared and are growning bigger. Taking advantage of this beautiful break, I took down our outdoor Christmas lights and was able to do it in my shirtsleeves! This warm weather is supposed to stay around for a few days.
