Sunday Stills, "Landscape"

Top landscape photo taken 5-19-10 on our ranch near Sentinel Butte, North Dakota. Lower photo was taken 3-22-09 on the northern most edge of our ranch, in the badlands. We call the cone shaped formations "clay knobs". There is a lot of petrified wood to be found around the knobs and all thru the badlands there are numerous fossils.

Hi Judy,
Greetings from Central Oregon, east of us we have similar formations and hills, called The Painted Hills, there are fossils and petrified wood there too.

I live in sand and basalt lava country, high desert with sage and juniper primarily.

Thanks for sharing

I'd love to have some of those to frame, they're gorgeous! Here in Arkansas we don't get the deep blue skies (very often, anyway) and none of the really cool buttes! I do have some good shots of rivers, lakes, and mountains, though.
